The author : photographer, traveler and travel reporter.

En español, por favor. En français, svp. Miguel Ramo

My name is Miguel Ramo although everybody knows me as Michel because I was born in France in 1960 and, more concretely, at Neuilly-Sur-Seine, in a suburb of Paris.

I started photography when I was 16 years old with a borrowed Rolleiflex camera. After many years of becoming fond of photography, in 2006, I switched to professional photography, something psychologically important.

I am a hardened traveller who needs to photograph everything that moves me, from the plastic beauty of a landscape to the social injustices throughout the world plus the unusual and the surprising thing that I find on my way. I am a socially involved photographer trying to sensitize people who view my work and recognize the critical innate predisposition to capture scenes in which the children suffer without enjoying the childhood they will never know but should know. I feel as a humanist photographer, there is always a little bit of me in each photograph, no matter what the content of that image.

I like to define myself like a trip-and-circumstances-photographer. This is the reason why I try travel with the lightest available equipment, be unnoticed, and respectful to the people, animals and things I meet. And, sometimes, I admit that I capture daily life and moments that I cannot obtain permission for before shooting.

In my humble opinion photography is based on instinct, anticipation, frame, correct exposure and finally on equipment.
